Position Summary

Insulet Corporation is looking for an experienced and motivated Director Marketing, Europe to join our growing International Diabetes team. This role will be responsible for helping create the vision and strategy for the Insulet EU business as well as support building the team who will develop and implement the short and long-term strategy to stand-up the European business and deliver consistent double digit topline growth.

 

The successful candidate for this role will support development of a long-term business plan to address the core drivers and target key stakeholders in the segment including the HCP community, the patient/user/caregiver, the payer segment and market advocacy groups. This role will encompass a focus across the full spectrum of medical device marketing from upstream product development and project responsibility to downstream market strategy and successful execution. This candidate will also be adept at seeking out and building new market partnerships to extend brand awareness. This role will ensure alignment with internal functional partners both in the EU and the US including Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Regulatory/Quality, R&D, Customer Service, Finance and Legal.

This individual enjoys working as a business leader in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced organization focused on transforming the diabetes space in healthcare. Candidates must be highly driven leaders, have the ability to balance multiple project priorities and operate efficiently and quickly to meet the demands of our agile marketing environment. Candidates should ideally have prior medical device or pharmaceutical experience, and should be confident building and presenting strategies and tactics to senior level external and internal audiences. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a long-and short-term EU marketing strategy to drive sustained double digit product portfolio growth.
  • Devise and execute product development strategies to ensure continued segment growth over a long-term horizon.
  • Develop and lead the execution of integrated commercial launch and market development plans in the EU Diabetes Technology space including core strategies, tactics, financial objectives, budgets and staffing requirements.
  • Create a portfolio of marketing tools to support the needs of a direct sales team.
  • Analyze market performance against KPI benchmarks and develop appropriate action.
  • Manage expenses within budget, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement a consumer focused digital strategy ensuring the optimal marketing mix.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of mid-level marketing professionals to support exceptional commercial tactical execution.
  • Maintain and develop key internal stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth, integrated operation of major projects. Internal stakeholder groups include Regulatory/Quality, R&D, Customer Service, Legal, Market Access and Finance.
  • Ensure optimal Sales & Marketing working platform through consistent communication with the sales team and regular field travel.
  • Maintain and develop KOL relationships to drive product portfolio awareness.
  • Drive and support the Patient Marketing plan with business and strategic insight and commercial execution.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or Marketing with 12+ years of work experience. An MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience creating and implementing a consumer focused digital strategy
  • Strong experience in healthcare operating across major EU country markets
  • Experience developing and commercializing new products/line extensions.
  • Diabetes experience or knowledge preferred.
  • Experience building, leading, motivating and managing a team.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Self-starter, quick learner and highly organized.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers and conduct briefing meetings for senior management.
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and the ability to create a fun and energized working environment.
