Position Summary

The Region Business Director is responsible for leading the Territory Managers and Clinical Services teams to achievement of their quarterly performance objectives.

Responsibilities

The position is accountable for consistently achieving regional sales and training objectives and ensuring these results are profitable and within the guidelines of Insulet Corporation’s defined practices. The position is responsible for the management and development of approximately the District Sales Managers and their teams. This position will also facilitate and be accountable for correlating any contact between the Field and all internal operational teams at Insulet Corporation.

  • Meets/exceeds quarterly regional sales and profitability objectives as well as market share.
  • Strong leadership and goal-setting ability along with the ability to mentor and coach to optimal performance.
  • Works effectively and productively within the Insulet Corporation sales and clinical teams as well as home office team environment.
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of the managed care reimbursement process.
  • Develops and maintains superior relationships with key diabetes decision makers and influencers across the region.
  • Strong proficiency in the understanding and utilization of all ancillary Insulet Corporation data management software.
  • Must possess very strong computer skills as well as a very strong proficiency for working with data bases to analyze performance as well as develop national strategies.
  • Strong analytical ability to determine the effectiveness of each region and territory.
  • Ability to interview and hire new Field personnel as needed.
  • Completes administrative duties in a timely manner and works within specified budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years’ sales experience in the medical device industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 successful years in diabetes sales and operations.
  • Proven leadership, communication and mentoring skill set.
  • Clinical capability with regard to insulin delivery and diabetes management.
  • Medical industry sales experience as well as strong clinical & diabetes training experience required.
  • Must possess strong leadership and business development skills.
  • Keen understanding of all clinical aspects of diabetes and diabetes management.

 Skills/Competencies:

  • Team player with the ability to lead a highly motivated and demanding sales and clinical teams.
  • Successful sales track record; excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to create and execute a regional sales and clinical plan; ability to manage budgets.
  • Very strong computer proficiency and data analysis required.
  • Ability to generate and analyze data for the purposes of forecasting, evaluation and performance management.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent business travel (up to 75% weekly travel).
  • Ability to travel (air and land).
  • Valid driver’s license.
