Position Summary

The Country Manager is responsible for managing operations, developing business and increasing profitability for the organization within the French market. The ideal candidate in this role will have a strong commercial background, financial skills, and possess the ability to work effectively across functional areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing French distributor relationships, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability and growth goals in the French market.
  • Plan and manage annual operational budget and deploy financial investments in alignment with the strategic plan
  • Work closely with the senior management and commercial leadership teams in the development and implementation of growth strategies, strategic plans, and business opportunities.
  • Performs market research, analyzes new market opportunities and pursues new business opportunities. Organizes, tracks, documents and reports on the status of all prospects in the business development pipeline.
  • Create financial projections for growth and profitability of future products and acquisitions.
  • Assist  in  development  of  presentations,  marketing  materials  and  information,  conduct  market  analysis  and  continually  monitor  the  healthcare  marketplace  for  changes  in  direction  and  opportunities.
  • Assume additional leadership responsibilities as department/division grows.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors of Science Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • First-hand knowledge and experience in the diabetes market is desirable, but not required. 

Skills/Competencies:

  • Must possess a blend of strong intellect, exceptional leadership skills and results orientation.
  • A history of increasingly broad general management experience, and will have integrated and led multiple functions.
  • Significant experience in marketing, sales and the development and introduction of pioneering medical devices is required.
  • Financial and strategic skills are a must as is a strong sense of urgency.
  • Flexible thinker who is comfortable with change and ambiguity and is also able to achieve clarity and reduce uncertainty.
  • Has a flexible operating style, hands-on when necessary, delegates effectively when a less hand-on style is appropriate.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically able to travel for business.  Business trips may extend over multiple days.
