Senior Commercial Analytics and Contracts Analyst (Temporary / Contract)

Position Summary

This individual will serve as temporary replacement for the current Senior Analyst. Will report to the Director of Contract Management in the Market Access department of Insulet’s US Insulin Delivery business unit.  Responsibilities include a number of analytical and data-management tasks that are key for meeting financial obligations on customer contracts and influencing commercial business decisions.  Will involve close collaborations with Finance, IT, account management, trade/channel management, contract development, and other stakeholders.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison with outside rebate operations partner for validation/processing of commercial managed care rebate obligations; provide timely and accurate completion of monthly/quarterly rebate cycles, ensuring exclusion of improper rebate claims and payment of all appropriate rebates to customers.
  • Oversee monitoring and validation of monthly utilization reports from distributor customers. Identify discrepancies in reports and (as necessary) initiate inquiries, disputes, and financial reconciliation requests to customers.
  • As appropriate and as time permits, support other Insulet Market Access department needs (e.g., sales forecasts, general analytical support, and development of “desk procedures” and “SOP’s” to document/implement work-flows and processes).

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ work experience (including a minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or contract/pricing operations).
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries a major plus: pharmaceutical products, medical device products, health care provider, health insurer/pharmacy-benefits manager, or health care products wholesaler/distributor.

 

 

Skills/Competencies:            

  • Advanced MS Excel skills; high level of proficiency in other MS Office applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities. Technically capable of determining “what’s wrong” in complex situations and offering potential solutions; identifies root causes of problems and works with others to create effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to break down raw information and unstructured problems into specific, workable components that reflect drivers of causal issues. Makes logical conclusions, anticipates obstacles, and strives for superior results in a creative and resourceful manner.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to convey information in a logical manner.
  • Strong and conscientious attention to detail and accuracy; solid organizational skills.
  • Strong team player, able to collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal team results.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, any of the following are pluses: contract operations, pharmacy benefit managers (PBM’s), managed care payors, health care providers, health care products distributors/wholesalers, and government pricing/contracting.
