Position Summary

Insulet Corporation is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Manager to join our growing International team. This role will provide financial leadership as we develop and implement the short and long-term strategy to stand-up the European business and deliver consistent double digit topline growth.


The role will provide financial and business decision support to the General Manager, Europe and his/her organization. This individual will be responsible for all financial planning, reporting and analysis for the European business. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (based in the U.S.) with a dotted line to the General Manager, Europe and will focus on the following:

  • Develop financial plans and models that provide a roadmap for achieving the European business financial goals
  • Partner with the business to identify opportunities to grow revenue, expand margins, and reduce costs, providing financial support to execute on those initiatives
  • Ensure that financial performance is measured accurately and consistently in relation to the forecast and budget

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning: Own the P&L financial planning process for the European business, including the forecast, budget and strategic plan for all revenue and operating expenses, as well as cash flows.
  • Drive Financial Results: Continuously monitor activities to ensure that financial commitments are met. Develop and update financial and KPI scorecards to support the European leadership team in driving results.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide the European business team and corporate leadership with financial reporting and insightful variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis. Distribute financial packages that highlight trends and performance of sales, expenses, and other key metrics.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide analysis and tools, as necessary, to support key decisions in the European operation.
  • Process Design & Improvement: Support the design of new processes to improve the quality and productivity of the finance team and the business in general.
  • Contract Management: Provide financial support for negotiations with customers/payors and vendors.
  • Teamwork and Training: Work well with the various team members in the department and the broader Insulet community. Hire and develop one Financial / Sales Analyst in the short/mid-term.
  • Special Projects: Work on specific unique projects that might call for complex financial modeling, or project management skills, including continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Business Controls: Advocate for strong business controls and support Sarbanes-Oxley processes within Insulet.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of financial planning and analysis experience in a global growth-oriented, publicly-traded company, with strong experience across Western Europe (e.g. France, Germany, UK, Netherlands), including cross-border transactions, various currencies, etc., with manufacturing/distribution and healthcare experience a plus
  • Proven track record as an effective financial business partner with a strong internal customer service focus
  • Strong communication, presence, and relationship building skills
  • Analytical thinker with strong business acumen, ability to summarize complex financial data into clear and concise recommendations for strategic decision support
  • Experience with tier-one ERP and Business Performance Management tools required, experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus
  • Excellent MS Excel and financial modeling skills are required
  • Able to effectively manage projects; results oriented and able to roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasks
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • May require 10-15% travel
