Position Summary

The position is responsible for assisting the Vendor Pipeline Specialist with distributor (vendor) communication during the patient onboarding process of starting the Omnipod system and will coordinate with Field Sales, Intake, and Inside Sales (OPS Team) to provide the best patient experience.  The Vendor Pipeline Associate is responsible for communicating as needed with assigned key distributor customers/colleagues to ensure the fastest turnaround time for shipping Omnipod systems to patients. 
 
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong influence management skills, sales/telesales accomplishments/acumen, proven ability to learn complex technical material (healthcare/diabetes preferred), excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a key cross-functional role within Insulet Corporation.
 
The Vendor Pipeline Associate is able to independently follow standardized workflows as defined by management and contribute to finding unrealized efficiencies within our distributor channel. This is a skilled position that requires customer service and/or telephonic sales experience and the ability to apply acquired skills to ensure the customer experience is positive and professional while consistently closing the sale. The Vendor Pipeline Associate will be expected to work on a broad range of tasks including more complex situations as the need arises
. Additional responsibilities include ensuring vendor tracker information is accurately input into customer records within our CRM which includes some data entry. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • With the intent of promoting and selling Insulet’s products, responsible for making outbound calls to distributors who are actively working with patient referrals to acquire the Omnipod System.
  • The Vendor Pipeline Associate will be responsible for entering purchase orders for our distributor partners.
  • Responsible for workflow of vendor pipeline files and increasing vendor efficiency by reducing turnaround time.
  • Responsible for outbound calls to distributors to nurture relationships, establish distributor accountability and facilitate increased shipments through distributor channels.
  • Using their broad understanding of how Insulet’s manufactured products are used and the benefits of the product, they will answer customer’s inquiries about Insulet’s product and competitive comparisons.
  • Pursue agreed upon success metrics with each distributor (# of referrals, # of shipments, turnaround time, conversion rate, organic growth).
  • Attend and/or conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews with distributor partners.
  • Advise Intake department on changes to decision trees based on distributor performance.
  • Collaborate with Insulet’s internal reimbursement and field sales teams to convert the lead to a shipped customer when distributor channels are used.
  • Provide frequent feedback and suggestions to support an environment of continuous process improvement.
  • Some additional account management responsibilities per Director of Channel Management and Director of Inside Sales.
  • Support Vendor Pipeline Specialist in the management of online portals/trackers for various vendors (ie. EP CareTrack) for field access, removal, etc.
  • Drive distributors toward standardized trackers with the goal of more useful formats for reporting and efficiency.
  • Special projects related to account management assignments per Director of Channel Management. For example, data analysis and trend identification.
  • Track reasons for patient hold and non-shipments.
  • Process distributor patient 45-day warranty returns
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Education and Experience:                         

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a sales environment, preferably with extensive phone coverage in a medical device or healthcare related field.
  • Medical device or pharmaceutical sales knowledge and understanding of the managed care industry are preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of diabetes and experience supporting patients with diabetes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DMEPOS, CMS/Medicare/Medicaid preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Lightweight lifting may be required.

  • Limited travel required.
