Position Summary

The EU Advocacy Manager role is responsible for ongoing development of professional and patient advocacy partnerships aligned to the different countries in which the Omnipod System is available. Responsibilities include stakeholder relations and the development of strategic external alliances both in the short- and long-term. These alliances should actively engage key stakeholders, including patients, providers, families, policy-makers, thought leaders and nonprofit organizations, to build the corporate brand recognition of Insulet in Europe and facilitate meaningful and sustainable partnerships. The role will gather input and understanding from all stakeholders to inform business decisions, and creatively partner to enhance value obtained from therapeutic and programmatic solutions. This candidate will be able to successfully integrate with cross-functional team members to accomplish commercial goals.


  • Develop and leverage relationships with patient and professional European communities to define and articulate value and preference.
  • Establish strong and enduring external relationships with patients, medical professionals and advocacy organizations to elevate and find solutions for key issues of importance for patients and advocates, including access, education, and disease awareness. 
  • Drive focus around both regional associations (ATTD, EASD) as well as country-based groups (Diabetes UK, SFD).
  • Develop deep insights into capabilities of advocacy organizations, and leverage this knowledge to strengthen partnerships.
  • Monitor and communicate policy, regulatory, and broader external environmental market shifts to understand potential impact on the business.
  • Monitor and develop Insulet corporate reputation and brand identity in Europe through engagement with key groups.
  • Provide regular counsel to leaders on strategic impact of future actions, threats and opportunities.
  • Partner with the Marketing team around public relations on communications strategies, technology awareness and education campaigns and positioning.
  • Partner with European Market Access team to advance policy and quality priorities.
  • Partner with US Advocacy team to drive global alignment and processes around partnerships and positioning.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent is required. Masters’ Degree is strongly preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in the European diabetes space either medical device or drug related with proven accomplishments in advocacy.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking capabilities with forward looking perspective.
  • Strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills are required with proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of people and audiences.
  • Adept at adapting plans effectively for optimal impact.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations including relationship-management expertise, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence without authority, including demonstrated experience gaining senior leader perspectives and support.
  • Familiarity with complex, competitive markets preferred.
  • This is an external-facing role, so significant travel to meet partners is required.
