Position Summary

The Director, Account Management is responsible for leading the cross functional team that serves Insulet’s drug delivery customers.  S/he is the primary point of contact for these customers and is responsible for these relationships globally.   S/he is specifically responsible for meeting customer forecasts, managing requests for scope changes, coordinating Insulet resources to assure quality and continuously improve our products, risk management, and all other account interfaces/dependencies.  


The role requires strong leadership in a matrixed environment and a keen understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations, program and project management, and managing customer relationships.


  • Manage customer relationships on a global basis; serve as the key escalation point for all customer issues, scope changes, quality issues, communications management, risk management and account interfaces/dependencies
  • Serve as the hands-on leader of a matrixed internal team that serves drug delivery customers, including preparing internal and external communications, creating and managing high-level and detailed project plans, and reviewing and managing resourcing and execution plans
  • Oversee development of quotations and negotiate contracts with pharmaceutical customers
  • Budget and manage Insulet’s financial objectives for its drug delivery business by working closely with executive leadership and finance 
  • Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Management, Business, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain operations in medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • 5+ years in B2B account management, ideally serving the pharmaceutical industry


  • Outstanding leader in a matrixed environment; able to meaningfully oversee and contribute on the full range of issues that arise during complex B2B relationships
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized, and thrives on managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication with customers, executives, peers and subordinates
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with customers, with track record of identifying new areas of opportunity and negotiating complex business deals for mutual benefit
  • Strong financial acumen and compelling negotiator
