Position Summary

This position is responsible for building the Medical Affairs function and coordinating key medical affairs initiatives to support the EU business. This role will focus on developing the strategy to support the commercial requirements to establish the Insulet (Omnipod) business in Europe as well as clinical requirements of the European organisation. This role will also be responsible for developing a clinical data plan and long-term pipeline to support new product introduction and market access plans currently in scope.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement plan to develop Key Opinion Leaders across core European country markets.
  • Develop European HCP product training plan and resource requirements
  • Scope and launch European KOL development platform.
  • Works with Market Access team to scope out clinical requirements and consequent clinical partnerships.
  • Core member of global clinical steering team committed to understanding and scoping platform clinical data requirements.
  • Operates in partnership with European commercial team to support clinical requirements at regional conferences and country meetings.
  • Supports data analysis and interpretation of key clinical information and communicates as required to the EU Commercial team.
  • Develops and implements an HCP clinical speaker program across operating countries in Europe.
  • Provides medical/scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, as required. Recommends changes for labeling and other marketing literature to ensure claims are supported.
  • Conducts literature reviews and drafts study reports as required to support the Commercial organisation.
  • Summarises key Congress findings to support Commercial team.
  • Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge for relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance/ participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars and by regular self-study of the national/international literature.
  • Partners with US Clinical team to drive global alignment and global process.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred. 
  • 6 – 8 years of medical device or drug related clinical and KOL management experience; Endocrinology experience highly desired.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence without authority, including demonstrated experience gaining senior leader perspectives and support.
  • This is an external-facing role, so significant travel to meet stakeholders is required.
  • Direct experience in managing a KOL network.
  • Must have analytical skills, be detail orientated and have good interpersonal skills.
