Position Summary

With the Omnipod Insulin Management System as its flagship product, Insulet Corporation is one of the fastest growing medical device companies in the U.S. as well as internationally. Insulet now innovates, manufactures and commercializes technologies for continuous subcutaneous infusion for a variety of drug therapies.

 

With an emphasis on the diabetes business, this Product Manager position will be a core contributor to the creation of the Adult and Pediatric HCP strategy and tactical plan execution. This marketing position will require expertise in marketing strategy, upstream product development as well as downstream marketing for the diabetes business. 

 

By working proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders from many organization departments, this Product Manager will have a central role in providing market and business analysis, driving clinical literature plans, ensuring successful new product commercialization and supporting a direct US sales team with creative implementation. These and other core activities will ensure the growth of a successful diabetes business at Insulet.

 

Responsibilities

  • Core player in creation of a market-leading diabetes business including downstream field support and direct to HCP marketing
  • Manage upstream sustaining product development initiatives focused on innovation interfacing with the R&D group and a cross-functional core team (including Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, MedEd, Managed Care, Finance) on product requirements and specifications.
  • Drive overall commercial success of diabetes products with HCPs by providing the appropriate knowledge on value proposition, messaging, product features and benefits, competitive positioning and promotional initiatives.
  • Build and update financial models for upstream requirements and S&OP/demand planning.
  • Serve as a lead commercial point of contact for interactions with partner organizations and national societies to ensure commercial alignment and to build collaborative initiatives consistent with Insulet’s commercial portfolio strategy.
  • Support a large, national sales team with downstream collateral, programs and media to support adoption in both the adult and pediatric segments
  • Develop ongoing market intelligence and analysis to support and inform business planning and strategies for market growth.
  • Collaborate closely on the development of medical education and KOL outreach programs.
  • Continuously work to refine and institutionalize best practice processes to ensure operational efficiency in both upstream and downstream systems.
  • Work closely to develop, maintain, and grow relationships with key customers and KOLs.
  • Ensure timely and consistent provision of all marketing support materials for diabetes Omnipod adoption, along with general support of our international marketing team.

 

Education and Experience

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Business, MS or MBA preferred
  • 3-5 or more years of relevant product marketing experience. Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent, complex and cross-functional projects required.
  • Experience in both upstream and downstream marketing and large scale sales force support and management needed.
  • Experience building clinical study pipelines, creating medical education programs and developing national society relationships preferred.

 Skills / Competencies

Travel

  • Will be required to do 1-2 field rides per month and attend all project related tradeshows or conferences.
