Position Summary

The Marketing Automation Analyst/Senior Analyst is a critical member of the Commercial Systems Team and reports to the Manager of Commercial CRM.  Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for our global marketing automation efforts across Sales, Marketing and Customer Care initiatives.  The analyst will be the primary system administrator of our SFDC Marketing Cloud / Exact Target platform and be responsible for creation and ongoing management of all campaigns, reports and general administrative functions.  There are other team members in the US and EU that will provide assistance, but this role is the owner of the platform and drives the tactical delivery. As time permits, this role will also support our platform through business requirement documentation, basic configuration, and testing focused on supporting the US Sales and Marketing units.  The analyst should expect to dedicate at least 75% of his/her time on marketing automation, and the remaining 25% on CRM support.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background working with marketing automation tools, preferably SFDC Marketing Cloud / Exact Target, and also a demonstrated background in a business analyst role supporting commercial systems.  The candidate must have strong communication skills and understanding of marketing business process, while also having general technical skills to assist with design and implementation of appropriate technical solutions.


  • Own the ongoing maintenance of existing campaigns in Marketing Cloud / Exact Target
  • Work closely with North America and EU marketing teams to build new campaigns
  1. This role will be more focused campaign logic and implementation and less on the actual content creation, but knowledge of creating HTML forms and page layouts is required
  2. Lead requirement gathering meetings with marketing, customer care and other departments to define new campaign requirements
  • Maintain administrative matrix documentation showing all of our campaigns, when they run, expected vs actual results, etc.
  • Build reports and/or assist marketing team with data demonstrating campaign ROI
  • Owns relationship with Marketing Cloud / Exact Target account manager and keeping up to date with Marketing Cloud upgrades and product offerings.
  • Serve as the primary IT contact for technical Marketing Cloud / Exact Target questions
  • Develop and maintain application documentation as needed
  • Communicate effectively with business users on the status of enhancements, projects and open production support tickets

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with Marketing Automation tools, preferably Marketing cloud / Exact Target
  • Individuals can come from an IT or Marketing/Ops background as long as the he/she has a technically oriented mindset and experience developing/deploying Marketing Automation

As a result, we have very specific processes and rules around marketing automation to ensure compliance and prevent mistakes.  The person in this role must be very process and detail oriented to ensure security and accuracy in all that we implement.
  • Working knowledge of HTML to update or enhance marketing campaigns and content
  • Proven knowledge of both acquisition and retention-based marketing campaign management and outbound email program administration
  • Working knowledge of for sales/marketing functions
  1. Previous experience working as a SFDC administrator or Business analyst is preferred but not required
  • Proven knowledge of the software and systems development life cycle



Job Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a marketing automation analyst function
  • Detailed experience with the marketing automation tools, preferably SFDC Marketing Cloud/Exact Target
  • Experience working with marketing automation in an environment where the tool and processes are integrated with
  • Preferred experience working within a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical regulatory environment
  • Understanding of HIPAA data requirements and impacts to systems or processes
  • Experience supporting or working with a Commercial and/or Call Center organization, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or any other regulatory controlled industry

  • Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • Ability to work independently & on multiple projects against deadlines
  • Experience in the healthcare, pharma or medical device industry a plus
