Position Summary

The Microsoft AX Manufacturing Business Analyst is a critical member of the IT Corporate Systems Team.  Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will support Insulet’s Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Logistics functions through business processes definition, analysis of business problems, analytics, proposal/design/configuration/ implementation of technical solutions, and continued development of the partnership with our Supply Chain Operations organization.  The BA will focus on projects, processes and initiatives related to Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Distribution on our Microsoft AX platform, including integration with manufacturing automation systems and third party logistics partners.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to comprehend business process and context, while also having technical skills to design and configure appropriate technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform business and systems analysis work; conduct requirements gathering/analysis via information gathering sessions with business users and technical staff. Develop supporting process flows.
  • Conduct analysis of existing business processes; recommend process improvements.
  • Build and implement new solutions in Microsoft AX related to Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Distribution process improvements.
  • Responsible for providing data expertise related to operational reporting and analytics.
  • Support the development of training materials and training sessions with business users to improve adoption and efficient use of all systems related to the Operations job functions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of third party tools for feasibility and impact to the business.
  • Support the design and implementation of integrations between AX and external systems.
  • Create and maintain business requirement documentation that can include use cases, process flows, and system interface diagrams.
  • Create design documentation based on business requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with business users on the status of enhancements and projects.
  • Support users in the development of test plans and test execution.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Microsoft AX in a BA / Functional role utilizing the following AX modules:
    •  Product Information Management
    • Inventory Management
    • Production Control
    • Procurement and Sourcing
    • Master Planning
  • At least 5 years of experience working on large projects or programs related to Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Distribution.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment as well as International experience is desired.
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the following systems and/or processes:
    • Inventory and Warehouse Management
    • Master Planning and Production Scheduling
    • Production journal postings
    • Manufacturing Costing
  • Proven ability to provide business analysis and system configuration deliverables related to process improvement.
  • Experience supporting or working with Manufacturing and Supply Chain organizations, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulatory controlled industry.
  • Microsoft AX Certification(s) preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of the software and systems development life cycle.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently & on multiple projects against deadlines.
  • Experience in the healthcare, pharma or medical device industry a plus.
