  • Position Summary

    The Director/Sr. Director, Business Development & Strategy will be responsible for leading the cross-functional long-range strategic planning process and plan. In addition, this individual will create, develop, and manage strategic partner relationships

    Responsibilities

     Strategy:

    • Work with cross-functional team to manage annual and quarterly strategy processes, culminating in the organizations long-range strategic plan
    • Understand diabetes landscape and perform landscape analysis on potential partners for an identified strategic need
    • Perform make vs buy analysis and model business case, in coordination with marketing
    • Assist with ad hoc strategic analysis, as needed

     

    Alliance Management:

    • Manage day to day interaction with partners in coordination with appropriate project manager
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure development milestones are met and are within budget
    • Prepare quarterly partner updates, both in preparation for QBRs (quarterly business reviews) and for senior management updates.
    • Act as Joint Steering Committee member or support JSC member, as directed
    • Identify cross-partner potential conflicts or synergies and work with internal stakeholders to help resolve/enable these, including across divisions
    • Determine partnership outline of goals, responsibilities, and business plan at the outset of each partner relationships
    • Drive successful collaboration externally and internally to make Insulet the “partner of choice”
    • Negotiate contract terms and the executed contract in coordination with legal

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree at minimum, MBA or equivalent preferred.  
    • Minimum of 10 years of related experience with exposure to the following areas:  Legal, Finance, Technical/engineering/medical device.
    • Strong Diabetes industry knowledge and contacts preferred.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills - written and verbal.
    • Project management experience:  ability to multi-task and prioritize to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong executive presence.
    • Business travel as required.
