  • Position Summary

    This position responsible for supporting the Electrical Engineering team in the design and development of low power battery operated medical electronics. This position must be experienced with testing electrical designs, assembling prototypes, set-up & support development systems, following test procedures, and documenting test results. He or she must be able to read schematics and follow board designs. This position requires close cooperation with members of engineering team to accomplish project objectives.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and resolution to electrical or engineering issues.
    • Assemble electronic systems and prototypes contacting SMT components according to engineering information with knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and test & measurement instruments such as soldering stations, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and various millimeters.
    • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
    • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance electro-mechanical assemblies under simulated operating conditions, creating or following detailed procedures, and clearly & concisely report on results.
    • Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to provide technical assistance and identify, define, and solve issues.
    • Gather and analyze test data in MS Excel or otherwise to interpret and present test results to team.
    • Assist in identifying test methods and development of test fixtures for purpose of design verification testing.
    • Performs other duties as required.

     

     

     

    Education and Experience

     

    • Minimum of an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering related fields and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of executing test protocols, data analysis, and reporting.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of tools and instruments utilized in electrical engineering field.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of comprehending electrical schematics, component datasheets, and PCB designs for the purposes of test and measurement.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of root cause analysis for electrical systems
    • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems is a plus.
    • Knowledge of embedded microprocessor systems is a plus.

     

    Skills/Competencies:

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to organize work and judge priorities.
    • Knowledge of digital circuit design and Microprocessors.
    • Ability to use laboratory equipment for electronics measurement.
    • Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW tool is a plus.
    • Ability to effectively perform root cause analysis.
    • Clear and concise documentation skills.
