  • Position Summary

    Position overview

    • This position supports Lifecycle R&D mechanical (electrical, systems, and software) engineers in various cost reduction, performance improving, and root cause analysis projects.
    • This candidate must be hands-on with learning the intricacies of the medical device and the operation of lab test equipment
    • Day-to-day activities will include designing, troubleshooting, investigating, testing, and documenting finding for a variety of engineering problems
    • Mechanical Engineering Co-ops are considered entry level engineers and are given the corresponding opportunities/responsibilities on the Lifecycle team

     

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting test data – making recommendations and drawing conclusions
    • Perform engineering testing supporting various LCE projects
    • Author and support Engineering Change Orders and engineering protocols/reports
    • Application of sound engineering problem solving for root cause analysis
    • Develop CAD fixture designs and utilize in-house 3D printer for rapid prototyping

    Education and Experience

    Education Qualification

    • Currently a candidate for BS in mechanical engineering, or similar degree
    • Completion of one prior co-op or 6-months of similar internship experience preferred

      

    Desired Skills

    • Strong technical writing and communication skills
    • Proficient with basic statistical analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn on the job while driving results
    • Solidworks CAD modelling experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
