  • Position Summary

    Reporting directly to the VP, International, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible and accountable for achieving the sales targets for the Region, while maintaining expenses within established budgets through the effective management and development of the sales team. The RSM will hold their team accountable to live the values of the organization and will build trust through promotion of the right product for the right patient.


    • Lead, manage and motivate the sales team to ensure the successful attainment of regional sales and profit goals.
    • Collaborate with sales management colleagues, marketing and sales operations on the development and execution of the strategic and tactical business plans.
    • Develop and implement regional goals and objectives in line with the Strategic plan for Canada.
    • Ensure the execution of regional goals & objectives at the territory level and conduct regular territory review sessions
    • Embed a culture of good governance, and values based decision making within the organization.
    • Recruit and retain top talent in line with the competencies and responsibilities of the role.
    • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching and feedback to direct reports on areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement.
    • Conduct field visits with representatives, ensure proper pre and post calls analysis and provide constructive feedback.
    • Ensure and oversee the effective territory and contract management.
    • Adhere to and hold direct reports accountable to all required administrative tasks.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders to enhance the company’s image and promote Insulet Canada.
    • Work in collaboration with cross-functional partners to drive sustainable business operations.
    • Provide PDP feedback on cross functional team members to the VP, International.
    • Strong working knowledge of the markets responsible for, including the Provincial reimbursement landscape.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of sales management experience in the healthcare industry, preferably medical devices
    • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.    



    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to foster excellent working relationships with employees, peers, internal and external business partners.
    • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with Government and Senior Leaders.
    • Proven ability to assess risk and make values based decisions while keeping stakeholders appraised.
    • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, prioritize work, meet objective / deadlines with strong organizational capability.
    • Ability to self-motivate and be resilient and focused under pressure.
    • Ability to motivate and coach others to strive for continuous improvement and to demonstrate leadership behaviors. Seen as a people builder who provides challenging and stretch objectives while providing positive and constructive feedback.

    • Knowledge of the medical industry and the ability to understand current and possible future policies.

    Physical Requirements:

    • 50% of this job requires travel.
