    The Engineering Technician Team Leader will lead a team of maintenance technicians, ensure their daily activities support business objectives, they comply with cGMP requirements, and manage their performance. The Engineering Technician Team Lead must put the safety of our people and patients first, be focused on quality, self-directed, a motivated team player, and a willing trainer—eager to gain and share new knowledge. 


    • Planning daily activities for their team based on operation demand plans, maintenance schedules, and improvement process action items including corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines.
    • Manage team performance and development, energize others to reach their full potential.
    • Develop training plans and material, create preventive maintenance tasks and work plans, write SOPs, and verify activities are performed as specified in documented work instructions.
    • Use Lean principles and tools to drive a continuous improvement culture to improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost
    • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action/preventive action testing, implementation, and monitoring following established CAPA process and cross functional teams.
    • Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate people (e.g., engineering manager, maintenance planner, engineering, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system.
    • Responsible to report safety, quality, and regulatory compliance concerns to leadership.

    Education and Experience

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma
    • 3+ years of experience supervising or leading maintenance, repair, and improvement activities in a high-volume production environment.


    Preferred Skills and Competencies:

    • Engineering Technician Diploma or Associates Degree.
    • BS in an engineering discipline a plus.
    • Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
    • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, Maximo preferred.
    • Requires mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and problem solving skills, ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
    • Technical knowledge of cam driven linkages, discrete component assembly, and automation.
    • Familiarity with HMIs / GUIs (Machine user interfaces).
    • Previous experience working in a clean room environment.
    • Hands-on technical ability with assembly methodologies including locational methods, setup at assembly, pneumatic actuators, servo motors, limit switches, sensors, robotics, etc.
    • Experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred.
    • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigorous process discipline.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and unplanned issues on equipment, maintaining a focus on productivity without compromising safety or quality.
    • Thirst for knowledge and intense curiosity.
    • Sound decision making using data.
    • Needs to be able to effectively deal with conflict and openly communicate and lead team members to successful resolution.


    Physical Requirements (if applicable):          

    • International (Canada) Travel up to 50% may be required during first 4-6 months to support new equipment FAT and validation
    • Able to work all shifts and some weekends as required to support business objectives.
    • Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
    • Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.
    • Required to push and pull.
    • Ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently.
