  • Position Summary

    As a representative of Insulet’s Continuous Improvement Team, the Manager of Continuous Improvement will drive cost reduction and best practice sharing efforts across the organization, third party providers, and other key suppliers. This individual will be responsible for planning, facilitating and leading activities associated with Continuous Improvement (“CI”) efforts identified to maximize Insulet’s ability to reduce cost and provide quality Insulin and Drug delivery systems to the global marketplace.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates, and drives the continuous improvement and cost reduction deployment plans to support business needs.
    • Partners with leadership and champions in identifying, prioritizing, and executing projects that align with business / functional goals and strategies.
    • Responsible for planning and delivery of continuous improvement by demonstrating expert use of CI tools and methodologies, leading by example, and training as necessary.
    • Develops mechanisms for the implementation of standard work, knowledge sharing, and best-practice transfer across the business and with its business partners.
    • Ensures project tracking systems and business results are communicated / summarized monthly and quarterly.
    • Leads cross functional programs and projects of significant size and scope.
    • Work with Quality to ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements.
    • Maintain a cGMP environment and operate within FDA guidelines for Class III Medical Device manufacturing.
    • Perform other duties as required.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BS/BA in engineering, science, operations or business.

     

    Preferred Skills and Competencies:       

    • MBA and /or prior consulting experience preferred.
    • 3 years relevant job experience.
    • Demonstrated abilities leading cross functional teams
    • Strong program management skills and a proven track record in leading complex cross function programs (strategic alignment, business case development, governance regarding standard delivery and controls).
    • Strong project management skills and a proven track record in executing projects according to formal project management methodology.
    • Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching employee teams in a continuous improvement environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent communicator with particular strength as an active listener who can bring teams together across European cultures and languages.
    • Ability to influence multiple levels of an organization.
    • PC skill, word processing, excel, project planning, SharePoint and technical report generation.
    • Ability to organize and judge priorities.
    • Ability to generate and maintain accurate records, analyze complex data sets, and leverage data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
    • Preferred: IQ/OQ/PQ, Six Sigma, Lean, DOE skills.

     

    Physical Requirements (if applicable):        

    • General office environment, may sit for long periods of time.
    • Domestic and international travel may be required 10-15% of time.
